Short Term Medical Mission Trips for Students, Continued
 

Mano con Mano Health Reach
Provides medical, dental and vision care for the poor in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico and Guatemala. Medical, Dental, and other health care students and lay volunteers welcomed to inquire. You can also help with patient education, prevention, and equipping national professionals to provide ongoing care in their host country.

Medical Ministry International  (MMI)
We have over 65 one and two-week project opportunities for you and your family every year to destinations around the globe. We welcome physicians, surgeons, dentists, nurses, techs, students, optometrists, counselors, health educators, prayer walkers, general helpers, and other health care workers. Come serve the poor with spiritual and physical health care.

Medical Missions Outreach
Short term medical mission work with an emphasis on helping the local New Testament church in foreign countries (mostly Central and South America). We need MD, CRNP, PA, RN, LPN, CNA, Medical Students, Nursing Students, EMT, Paramedic.  Independent Baptist affiliation.

M.E.D.I.C.O.
MEDICO provides free medical, dental, optometric care and educational services to people in Honduras. Trips are about one week. All health care skills needed. Medical, dental, nursing students welcomed to apply.

Mercy Trips Healthcare Outreach
Two week trips providing surgical care and medical outreach clinics in eastern Uganda working with a rural hospital and local churches. Trips are in January or February. For physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and non-medical personnel with a service-minded attitudes.

Mercy Works
Share the message of Jesus in clinics, relief shelters, feeding centers, hospitals, and churches in very under served areas, such as The Gambia, Nigeria, and Mali. Med students, nurses, EMT's, pharmacists, physical therapists, lay people, evangelists, and pastors. 

Mountain Mover's Missions International  (Clinica Esperanza Y Amor)
Helping the very poor in neglected areas of Honduras and Nicaragua. We need med students to assist our medical staff in surgical and other medical practice. We can work with your electives needs. Mission houses house up to 30 people at a time. Spanish helpful in Nicaragua, even more important in Honduras.

Nepal Leprosy Trust
An on-site, four-week programme to learn about the Pathological process of Leprosy (Hansen's disease): Recognition of the early stages; Medical treatment; Management of impairment and disability; and Social aspects. Observe and learn in our lab, outpatient, surgical theater, physiotherapy areas.

OM Medical Ministries
We seek to connect medical and dental professionals with opportunities to serve in medical missions worldwide, short- or long-term, in the context of church planting or strengthening. Our goal is to impact people for eternity. Medical, Dental, Nursing, PT, EMT's, students, non-medical volunteers welcomed.

Open Eyes Ministries
Short term groups visit Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras regularly throughout the year to provide Medical and Dental care to those who have no access to this. Palmas de Mamre  Missionary Training School, Costa Rica
Partnering with Emercy, Las Palmas de Mamré operates a mission to reach the pueblos along the rivers bordering Costa Rica and Nicaragua. For ten weeks twice a year, students ages 15-80 from the Western Hemisphere come here to study missions, both in classes and in hands-on ministry, indigenous farm work, obstacle courses, medical clinics, and more. Presbyterian affiliation.

Partners In Development
PID offers short term mission trips (generally eight days) to Haiti & Guatemala. Anyone with medical and dental skills, and students in health care programs, can work in our medical clinic. Or, come help us build a home for a family in need, or run a children's program. We serve over 4,000 people each year.

Peacework Medical Projects
We need Clinical Medical Students, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Physicians, Paramedics - in fact, anyone with skills in Dentistry, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or other medical specialties willing to volunteer in a primary medical setting to serve the poor in Guyana and Honduras.

Physicians For Peace  (Not necessarily Christian)
Two week medical missions to countries around the world. Pre-clinical and clinical med students. Medical students are set up with a peer-host medical student in a host country.

Pro-Health International
A Christian, non-profit health care organization focused on uplifting the health status of the less privileged, neglected rural populace in West Africa. Internists, General Surgeons, OB-GYN, Pediatricians, Dentists, Nurses, Surgical Technologists, Pharmacists, Optometrists, Ophthalmologists, Pastors, Medical and Dental Students.

Project Compassion
We partner with missionaries, local churches, and health officials, to conduct short term evangelical medical clinics throughout the world. Several churches have been planted as a direct result of these outreaches. We serve in countries such as Mexico, Guatemala, Cambodia, Malawi. Medical skills or not, you can participate.

Project Salud y Paz (health and peace)
Two clinics serve the poor Mayan population in Guatemala. Students can shadow the resident physician, and may also wish to pursue a rotation with the dentist, possibly extracting a few teeth and learning aspects of oral anesthesia. There are ample opportunities to initiate research projects in these clinics as well. Accredited rotations for medical and dental students.

Projects Abroad (Not necessarily Christian)
Experience the stark contrast between medical practice in the West and developing countries, and gain unparalleled experience of a number of conditions which have been left untreated and have developed into advanced pathological conditions. For medical, elective, pre-university and pre-med students, etc. China, Ghana, India, Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal and Russia.

If you have a heart for the lost, join our medical team to Venezuela as a health care professional, medical student, or a servant-minded team member to staff a mobile medical clinic in Valencia and surrounding areas. You will work in collaboration with a drama and evangelism team.

Red Sea Team International
Clinical med students may be accepted in some of the countries we serve in the Middle East, West Africa, etc.

Remote Area Medical  (Not necessarily Christian)
Free airborne health care, veterinary services, technical and educational assistance to people in remote areas of Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Mexico, Philippines, USA. Med students accepted.

Rock's Medical Outreach
Join a short term trip with an energetic doctor to remote parts of the world providing medical care to some of the most underserved people on earth. Evangelism is the intent, medical care is the vehicle. Even pre-med students are welcomed to apply.

SCA International (formerly Shantymen)
Ministry in Canada includes several forms of outreach to First Nations peoples. Summer camps for aboriginal children from reserves need medical personnel. Med students can combine outreach with their medical training for a fantastic summer experience!

Salt and Light in the City
Practical evangelism in Romania may include a dental clinic, a mobile eye clinic, and a medical team which will bring health care to the many poor and sick of Hunedoara and surrounding areas. Operated by Bethel Humanitarian Association.

Save Orphans Ministries - Malawi
We exist to empower orphans and caretakers to meet the children's spiritual, emotional, intellectual and physical needs. We need volunteers skilled in medicine and dentistry, education, evangelism, leadership training, teaching, trades, shipping, caregiving, more. Medical students welcomed.

SIM
Twenty five countries including hospitals in Angola, Benin, India, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Program for medical school rotation open to pre-med students if there is space. 

Sociedad San Martin de Porres (Roman Catholic, open to all)
Serves in Guatemala. Physicians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners / Physician Assistants, fourth year med students. Arrange visits through Dr. Robert Campbell, (713) 880-3337 (Houston, TX).  Need Spanish.

Solid Rock Missions
Christian clinic ministers to the physical and spiritual needs of the poorest of the poor in and around San Juan de la Maguana in the Dominican Republic. Students in Health Care courses can apply.

South American Mission Society (SAMS) Episcopalian affiliation
Some opportunities for med students in Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica. Open only to members of Episcopalian churches.

Suubi Clinic  (Busu, and other villages around Iganga, Uganda)
Serving the very poor. We invite inquiries from students in any health care studies to inquire about volunteering. This clinic provides wonderful opportunities to learn first hand of the needs of much of the world's population, and to get hands-on experience in serving. (UK-based)

TEAM Vision Children's Home (Christian Faith Assembly)
Accommodates orphans from remote villages of India, especially from the deep jungles, who are under privileged, malnourished, poor and illiterate. Provides free food, housing, health care and education along with evangelism. Volunteers for village evangelism, vocational training, health care welcomed.

The Kardia Foundation
"We welcome students to join us so they can learn first hand how to make a difference in their world." Includes students in all health care disciplines, also college and high school students. India, Ukraine, Russia, Yemen, Philippines, Turkey, Netherlands.

The Mission Society
Serves more than 27 nations (includes Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Paraguay, Japan, Philippines, India, Russia, Kazakhstan, France, Ghana, and Tanzania), and communicates Christ through a variety of methods, including medical. VIDA: Volunteers for Intercultural & Definitive Adventures
Free medical, dental, and veterinary care to impoverished people in Central America and Mexico. Pre-med, pre-dental, and pre-veterinary students work with host country medical staff. Our short term mission trips provide hands-on, eye-opening, and mind-enriching medical experiences. No specific skills required, (a knowledge of basic Spanish is helpful). For 18 and over. Vital Injection
Short-term trips for the medical community and lay people to meet the needs of third world countries by showing them God's love through prayer, medicine and education. Great opportunity for high school and college students considering a vocation in the medical field.

Vital Links for Humanity
17-day summer trips to Vietnam for lay people, medical, nursing, and dental students, and professionals. Teach and work at hospitals, orphanages, and schools. All inclusive cost around $2000. We also arrange exchange visits to Vietnam for medical and nursing students wishing to experience healthcare in SE Asia.

Voluntary Projects Overseas
Medical professionals and students, you are urgently needed as a medical volunteer, to provide healthcare in remote areas of rural Cambodia, mostly in temporary clinics. You will work alongside English speaking Khmer staff to assist and support the program. (Not necessarily Christian)

Volunteer in Africa
For medical, dental, and nursing students, interns, medical doctors, dentists, nurses and other health care professionals who want to contribute to the development of and gain experiencein general health/medical care. Students shadow local doctors and nurses. Volunteers are placed with government or private hospitals and clinics in any of several countries, including Ghana.

Volunteers in Medical Missions (Evangelical Christian)
Clinical and pre-clinical med and pre-med students, nurses, lab techs, etc., can serve for a week or two in Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, Nicaragua, Ukraine, Romania.

World Outreach Fellowship
One or two week medical mission trips to Guyana and Trinidad. We welcome inquiries from health care students, EMT's etc. Our specially outfitted boat allows us to travel up river to reach difficult places.

World Venture
Our goals are to evangelize, establish churches, and equip leaders. We do many kinds of work including medical. We have some opportunities for students in health care majors - check the extensive current openings lists. Affiliated with Conservative Baptist churches.

MAP International Medical Fellowship 
The MAP International Fellowship program encourages lifelong involvement in global health issues by providing selected medical students firsthand exposure in a Christian context to the health, social and cultural characteristics of a developing world community. Fourth-year medical students, residents and interns are eligible to receive 100% of approved round trip airline fares to destination.

Mission Ready Inc.
MRI is a non-denominational, mainstream Christian non-profit corporation organized to provide a rich set of resources and to remove barriers for Christian men and women seeking to enter active missionary service throughout the world. Financial assistance considered for qualified candidates.

Project MedSend 
Works to develop funding to repay educational loans for health care workers as they minister among the under served at home and abroad, enabling you to serve where you are called.

Southwestern Medical Clinic
Fellowships to qualified medical students, residents, or fellows with a strong interest in international or domestic Christian missionary medicine. Recipients receive grants of up to $2000 for transportation and project-related expenses. Application deadlines are June 1 and December 1, and at least 60 days before trip.

The Yale/Johnson & Johnson Physician Scholars in International Health
Selects physician-in-training scholars from institutions outside of Yale during their residency, and and career physicians, for 4 to 8 week rotations in overseas sites. Hands-on clinical experience, service and teaching. Partial or full reimbursement for travel and living expenses incurred during the rotation. Fills all or part of The American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene requirement for certification once other criteria are met.
